Research on the Common Features of Food Culture of Various Ethnic Groups in Arid Environment
Northwest China is one of the most arid areas across China and the world.Ethnic groups that live here,such as the Uyghurs and Tajiks,have formed a lifestyle which embodies the distinctive traits of arid area culture.A comparison of the traditional diets of these groups with those of other ethnic groups in China reveals clearly their adaptation to the environment.With the swift advance of modernization,increased economic and cultural exchanges,and people's mobility,dietary habits in different regions are undergoing significant changes.Consequently,the dietary patterns of various ethnic communities in Northwest China are increasingly exhibiting a trend towards diversification.
