The Silk Road and Ethnic Interaction,Exchange and Integration of Chinese Nation:Based on the Perspective of Material Interaction
Interaction functions as the mode of existence and development in human society, playing roles of integrating, communicating, coordinating, fusing, and promoting development among different ethnic groups.Material interaction serves as the basis and prerequisite for the development of internal and external relations of ethnic groups. The Silk Road is a channel for human interaction and exchange based on a transportation network system.Scholars such as Fei Xiaotong and Fan Baoliang proposed that the Silk Road includes the interactions among various ethnic groups in the ancient East and West of the world,as well as those among ethnic groups along the road in ancient China. The economic interdependence of ethnic groups along the road, the dedicated governance of successive dynasties, and the joint construction by all ethnic groups in China have driven the continuous development of the Silk Road. The Silk Road is an important channel for material interaction among ethnic groups, facilitating the economic connections of mutual benefit and win-win among ethnic groups, cultural exchange and population movement in the regions along the road. The Silk Road is a crucial driving force for the development and cohesion of economic commonalities among ethnic groups in ancient China as well as an important impetus for the Chinese nation to build a unified economic entity.
