An Analysis on the Application for World Heritage of Chinese Character Civilization:Opportunites,Challengs and Paths
Chinese character is a kind of coexisting culture,with its application for world heritage being a long-standing problem.However,the application for world heritage of Chinese character will not only break through the limitation for the language and script as the main part of application,but will be faced with the challenges from surrounding countries and ar-eas who also will apply the world heritage for Chinese characters.During the process of Chinese civilization development,Chinese character itself not only forms a kind of unique script cultural pattern,but derives numerous cultural types;it pro-motes the development of science and technology,such as paper-making and printing,and promotes the progress of Chi-nese civilization,meanwhile,it carries the common spirits of the Chinese nation,and finally promotes the civilization sys-tem of Chinese characters.However,under the influence of modern civilization and new technology,the Chinese character culture and its derived cultures meet the difficulties of development and urgent need for inheritance and protection under the background of the multicultural development of the world and the construction of Chinese modern civilization,the issue of the application for world heritage of Chinese character civilization embraces new historical opportunity.This paper,on the basis of the analysis of the problems of Chinese character writing and reading and the crisis of the development of its derived cultures,illustrates the routes of the application for world heritage and the feasibility with the Chinese character civilization as the main part of application,and further interprets the significance of the application for world heritage of Chinese char-acter civilization.
