Relativity analysis between the percentage of seedlings in the field and the methods of seed testing of Tartary buckwheat
To select an indoor method for determining the seed vigor of Tartary buckwheat that shows a good correlation with the percentage of field emergence,four Tartary buckwheat varieties with different vigor,Liuku 1,Pinku 1,Heimi 15 and Erqu auricular barley were used as experimental material.Seed vigor was determined by standard germination tests,low temperature germination tests and high temper-ature germination tests,and the results of the three methods were then correlated with the results of per-cent field emergence.The results showed that the fresh weight and vigor index in the standard germina-tion test had a significant correlation with field emergence in April.The fresh weight and vigor index of seedlings in the low temperature germination test showed a significant correlation with the field emer-gence rate in July.In the high temperature germination test,fresh weight and vigor index showed signifi-cant correlation with field emergence rate in April and July,germination energy,germination percent-age,fresh weight,germination index and vigor index all showed significant correlation with field seed-ling rate in July.Among them,germination energy and germination percentage had the highest correla-tion coefficients with field seedling rate in July(0.993,0.907).The conclusion is that the fresh weight and vigor index in the germination test tend to be significantly correlated with the field germination rate and can be used as effective indicators for predicting the field germination rate.The results of the high temperature germination test are more likely to correlate significantly with the emergence rate of seed-lings in the field.It can be used as an effective method to predict the seedling emergence rate in the field.
