Ecological niche and interspecific connectivity of dominant phytoplankton species in Wengjing Reservoir,Guiyang City
To explore the ecological niche characteristics and connectivity of dominant phytoplankton species,Wengjing Reservoir in Guiyang City was selected as the research object.Sampling and analysis were conducted from July 2021 to June 2022,focusing on the structural characteristics, temporal pat-terns of ecological niches, and interspecific correlation of the dominant phytoplankton species over twelve months within a year. The results show that:the survey identified 91 phytoplankton species from 7 phyla, with Synedra acusva,Pseudoanabaena limnetica,Cryptomonas erosa Ehr,and Cyclotella me-neghiniana being the absolute dominant species. The dominant phytoplankton community in Wengjing Reservoir exhibits seasonal changes, with Synedra acusva dominating in spring and winter,Cryptomonas erosa, and Cyclotella meneghiniana in late spring, and Pseudoanabaena limnetica in summer and au-tumn.The ecological niche breadth of dominant species, except for Cryptomonas erosa,is significantly affected by temporal variations, while Microcystis sp.is sensitive to spatial and temporal factors and can serve as an environmental indicator species, providing insight into community niche breadth and popu-lation overlap. There is no significant overall association within the community, with a general positive correlation among species.Absolute dominant species tend to have a promoting effect on other species. The community restores its steady state through intraspecific regulation and interspecific mutualism, demonstrating good stability and adaptability.
