Temporal and spatial characteristics and influencing factors of vapor pressure deficit in Guizhou Province
Vapor pressure deficit(VPD)is an important indicator of regional atmospheric dryness,an-alyzing the characteristics of spatial and temporal variations of VPD and its influence mechanism in Guizhou Province is of great significance in clarifying the change rule of climate and agricultural pro-duction.Based on the CN05.1 gridded observational dataset, this study quantified the temporal and spatial variations of the VPD in karst and non-karst regions of Guizhou Province from 1961 to 2022 by using regression analysis methods, and analyzed the VPD-based drought hazard and the meteorological factors which influencing VPD changes. The results revealed a significant upward trend in VPD on an annual and seasonal scale in Guizhou Province. The spatial distribution and trend of VPD during spring and summer showed opposite patterns between the karst and non-karst regions.Taking VPD as the in-dex,the drought hazard increased significantly in Guizhou Province, with a faster rate observed in the non-karst region.Temperature and relative humidity were identified as the dominant meteorological fac-tors influencing VPD changes at annual and seasonal scales, with slight differences in the contribution rates of different meteorological factors across various regions and scales.
