Differences in Photosynthetic Autotrophic Rooting among Tissue Cultured Seedlings of Different Sugarcane Varieties
Sugarcane tissue culture technology has become an effective method for accelerating the breeding and widespread adoption of superior sugarcane varieties.Photosynthetic autotrophic rooting in tissue culture seedlings can reduce the steps required for rooting, shorten the rooting period, and lower production costs. However, significant variations exist among different varieties. In order to explore the rooting characteristics of different varieties and further screen the root for varieties that are difficult or easily, this study used rootless tissue culture seedlings of Guitang28,Guitang29,Guitang42,Guitang44,Guitang45,and ROC22 as materials. After applying a rooting solution, photosynthetic autotrophic rooting was carried out.By investigating indicators such as the rooting rate, seedling mortality rate, survival rate, and growth status, the rooting differences among varieties were compared. The results from various experimental data indicate that among the six tested varieties,Guitang29 and Guitang44 have early rooting initiation, strong stress resistance, and survival rates exceeding 90%,classifying them as easily rootable varieties;Guitang45、ROC22 and Guitang42 have a slightly later rooting time, moderate stress resistance, and survival rates around 70%,making them as moderately easy to root varieties;Guitang28 have late rooting and high seedling mortality rates, with survival rates at 9.6%,respectively,making them as difficult to root varieties. These varieties with different rooting characteristics provide materials for further studying the mechanism of photosynthetic autotrophic rooting.
