Characterization,Application and Preparation of Trehalose
Since the discovery by American scientists that certain small animals(such as insects and shrimp),algae,and microorganisms containing trehalose exhibit a"resurrection"stress response in extreme environments,the unique physiological characteristics of trehalose have attracted widespread attention from the global scientific research community.This paper introduces the important findings of previous studies on trehalose,including its special properties,functional uses and preparation methods,its application potential as a bioprotective agent,and the methods to increase the yield by means of biotechnology.The main challenges have discussed,such as high production cost and low extraction purity,and the future research direction has prospected.In order to provide reference for researchers in related fields and promote the healthy development of the trehalose industry.
