Study on the Biological Characteristics of Seeds of Different Colors of Thesium chinensis Turcz.
To study the biological characteristics of Thesium chinensis Turcz.seeds with different seed coat colors.Wild seeds were used as experimental materials to study the phenotypic characteristics,weight and size,water absorption and content,viability and germination rate,storage substances,and enzyme activity of seeds.The biological characteristic indicators of the yellow seed of Thesium chinensis Turcz showed the best performance,with a vitality of 94.51%,a length of 2.69 mm,a width of 2.04 mm,a thickness of 2.03 mm,a weight of 0.540 6 g per 100 seeds,2.707 2 g per 500 seeds,and a crack rate of 45.90%.The highest soluble protein content in yellow seeds was 2.13 mg/g,significantly higher than that in green seeds(p<0.05).The highest soluble sugar and crude fat content in green seeds were 8.75 mg/g and 0.36 g/g,respectively.Enzyme activity POD and β-amylase in yellow seeds were 204.33 U/g and 11.83 U/g,respectively.The SOD content of yellow green seeds was significantly higher(p<0.05)than that of green seeds,at 13 201.83 U/g.The highest CAT con-tent of green seeds was 41.46 U/g.This study preliminarily clarified the biological characteristics of Thesium chinense seeds.The physiological indicators of seeds with different seed coat colors(yellow,chartreuse,green)were significantly different,and the germination characteristics of yellow and chartreuse seeds were better,which could provide a basis for the later collection of Thesium chinense seeds and the formulation of quality standards.
