Evaluation and Screening of Agronomic Traits of Newly Introduced Ginger Varieties in Chongqing
In order to solve the problems of single ginger planting variety and degradation of the main variety in Chongqing, this experiment introduced 14 ginger varieties from other places, using of Yongchuan Wujian yellow ginger as control,12 main agronomic traits related to 15 ginger germplasm resources were determined, and comprehensive evaluation was conducted, using methods such as cor-relation analysis, principal component analysis, and cluster analysis.Correlation analysis showed that the yield per plant was highly significant or significantly positively correlated with the number of branches, rhizome length, and ginger bulbs, while there was no significant correlation with other traits.Principal component analysis showed that the cumulative contribution rate of the first four principal components was 80.447%,which could be used as a comprehensive indicator for evaluating the agronomic traits of ginger germplasm. The principal component comprehensive evaluation found that Shandong ginger(G12),Tongling white ginger(G14),and Yongchuan Wujian yellow ginger G1(ck)ranked in the top three in comprehensive scores. The clustering analysis results divided the 15 germplasm resources into 3 groups, with ClassⅡ(G12)and ClassⅢ(G14)showing the best overall performance, with yields exceeding those of G1(ck)in the local five room yellow ginger of Yong-chuan.This indicated that Shandong ginger and Tongling white ginger belong to relatively excellent germplasm and suitable for promotion and cultivation in Chongqing and its surrounding areas.
