Effects of Phosphorus Deficiency Stress on Leaves of Leonurus japonicus Seedlings
To study the effects of phosphorus deficiency on the leaves of Leonurus japonicus seedlings, the physiological indexes of leaves of L.japonicus seedlings were observed under different concentra-tions of phosphorus(0,0.05,0.1,0.5 mmol/L).The results suggest that 0.5 mmol/L phosphorus was best for the growth of L.japonicus seedlings. When phosphorus concentration was lower than 0.5 mmol/L,plant height and leaf width of L.japonicus seedlings gradually decreased,photosyn-thetic characteristics were inhibited, water content, osmotic protective substance content, membrane permeability, active oxygen content and antioxidant enzyme activity were gradually increased with the depth of phosphorus deficiency.Phosphorous deficiency could inhibit the growth of L.japonicus seed-lings and induce osmotic stress on the leaves. The leaves of L.japonicus seedlings may regulate osmotic pressure by synthesizing osmotic protective substances and clear reactive oxygen species by antioxidant enzymes.
