Correlation and Path Analysis between Yield and Various Traits of Different Maize Varieties
In order to screen out the most suitable high-yield maize varieties for the Zunyi region and study the relative importance of various traits to maize yield,14 main maize varieties in the Zunyi re-gion were selected as the research objects.A completely random block design was used to conduct va-riance analysis of yield, correlation and path analysis between yield and various traits. The results showed that the yields of Zhenyu8 and Heyu808 were 754.94 kg/667 m2 and 732.15 kg/667 m2,re-spectively,significantly higher than the control(654.55 kg/667 m2),with an increase of 15.3%and 11.9%compared to the control, respectively. The yield of maize was positively correlated with plant height, ear diameter, number of rows per ear, number of grains per row,and 100 grain weight, while negatively correlated with ear height, ear length, and bald tip length. The number of grains in a row and the weight of one hundred grains had the greatest direct positive effect on yield, while the length of the spike and the length of the bald tip had the greatest direct negative effect on yield.
