Effect on the Seedling Growth by Soaking Cassava Cutting in the Root Powder Solution
In order to improve the cutting soaking technology of rooting powder, the cuttings were soaked in different root powder concentrations for 6 h and 12 h,to study the effects on the growth of cassava seedlings and soil enzyme activity. The results showed that, the hair root length, the dry weight of stem and leave, the dry hair root weight of cuttings soaked with 20-40 mg/L for 6 h and 10-20 mg/L for 12 h was significantly increased, compared with non-soaked cuttings, meanwhile, effectively improved the soil urease activity.Soaking cuttings in 10-40 mg/L for 6 h and 12 h,signifi-cantly increased the hair root diameter, while,in 20-40 mg/L for 6 h and 12 h,significantly im-proved the dry weight of storage root. The effects on soluble sugar content and starch content of the dry storage root of cassava seedling were not obvious.Soaking cuttings in 20-40 mg/L for 6 h and in 10 mg/L for 12 h significantly increased the S-ACP activity.Soaking cassava cuttings with 20-40 mg/L rooting powder solution for 6 h was recommended, which could better promote the growth of cassa-va seedling, meanwhile improve the activities of urease and S-ACP.
