Ethnic landscapes of folk culture and the construction of rural identity
Rural cultural landscape has a direct impact on the construction of rural identity. With the empirical research methos of the grounded theory, the situational analysis and interview,a multidimensional scaling analysis of ethnic landscapes of folk culture can clarify their connections with the formation of rural identity.Further,a theoretical model of rural identity can be constructed to explain the inherent mechanism that affects the rural identity. The results show that two dimensions exist in the space of ethnic landscapes of folk culture, namely the space of cultural atmosphere, and the interactive space of human behaviors. The former is the background expression for landscape with the meaning of gaze while the latter highlights the occurrence of interactive experiential behaviors between the concrete people and landscape space, representing the specific interaction between people and landscape. The formation of rural identity involves the resonance between the spatial atmosphere in the ethnic landscapes of folk culture and the behavioral interaction so as to form a unified magnetic field for the enhancement of rural identity.
