The mechanism that the social assistance affects the endogenous motivation for livelihood development among the farmers alleviated from poverty:the mediating roles of perceived social support and knowledge absorption
Based on 586 copies of survey data from poverty alleviation areas,this study investigates the impact of social assistance on the endogenous motivation of livelihood development among the farmers alleviated from poverty,examining the mediating roles of perceived social support and knowledge absorption as well as their mediating effects with the proactive personality from the perspective of the psychodynamic field theory.Results show that social assistance has a significant positive impact on stimulating their proactive personality and self-efficacy of livelihood development.The mediating effects of proactive personality between social as-sistance and self-efficacy of livelihood development are not significant under the mediating roles of perceived social support and knowledge absorption.However,perceived social support and knowledge absorption play a complete mediating role in the impact of social assistance on the proactive personality and self-efficacy of livelihood development.Moreover,perceived social support and proactive personality,as well as knowledge absorption and proactive personality,play a chain mediating role in the impact of social assistance on self-effi-cacy of livelihood development.The results further deepen the understanding of the relationship between so-cial assistance and endogenous motivation of livelihood development among the farmers alleviated from pov-erty,expand the boundary conditions of the relationship between the two,and enrich the theoretical research of endogenous motivation mechanism.All these have important implications for forming the proactive per-sonality of poverty alleviation farmers,improving self-efficacy,and enhancing the endogenous motivation of livelihood development among the poverty alleviation people.
