The silence and resistance of the living subjects in digital capitalism:from the perspective of Michel Foucault's biopolitics theory
When digital capitalism is joined with biopolitics,a seemingly free, inclusive and civilized governance model of digital biopolitics has been formed. However, rather than realizing the true freedom, the living subjects within this have been reduced to the virtual bodies through the digital expansion in the operation of the digital biopolitics mechanism, have unconsciously rushed into the framework that meets the requirements of gover-nance level, and have been gradually degraded to transparent data abstractions from realistic individuals. In this context, starting from Foucault's biopolitics theory,it can be found that the existence form and survival mode of living subjects have changed with the construction of digital panorama prison and the operation of digital capi-talist governance mechanism. At the same time, the full penetration of the digital biopolitics mechanism in the fields of politics, economy and culture marks that the power structure of digital capitalism has realized the com-plete control of the individual life till the whole population, which makes the free development of the living subjects and their return to themselves a beautiful fantasy. In the face of the power distribution and control that digital capitalism imposes on the living subject,it is possible to start with the criticism of the shape of digital life, the form of digital power, and the differentiated development of digital subjects. And the method of historical materialism can be applied to return to the perspective of Marx's critique of political economy so as to achieve a comprehensive review of the predicaments faced by the living subjects in digital capitalism and seek the path for the life subjects to resist.
