Empirical Analysis of the Impact of Population Aging on Residents'Consumption
In recent years,the elderly dependency ratio has been increasing,and China has moved from an aging so-ciety to a super aging society.It is crucial to clarify the impact of population aging on residents'consumption and seize the opportunity of the seniors economy to expand domestic demand.Using the panel data of 31 provinces from 2011 to 2021,the study analyzes the influence of population aging on residents'consumption.The fixed effect model is selected for regression.It is found that population aging has a significant role in promoting the consumption level of residents.The influence of pop-ulation aging on residents'consumption is heterogeneous in consumption types and regions,and the order of influence from high to low is survival,enjoyment,development.It has a significant positive impact on the eastern and central regions,and has a promoting effect on the eastern region.
