Coordinated Development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei to a New Level:New Starting Point,New Mission,and Key Tasks
This study has analyzed the growth patterns of well-known urban agglomerations and metropolitan areas at home and abroad,evaluated the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei((BTH hereafter))in terms of its stages and characteristics.In response to the requirements for BTH's coordinated development in the new era,along with Hebei'efforts to connect with Beijing Tianjin and serve the central region,the study propose key tasks for promoting BTH's coordinated development in the future.This study has shown that regional integration generally goes through four stages:planning and coordination,infrastructure interconnection,industrial and factor integration development,institutional arrangement and market system integration.BTH's coordinated development has entered a stage dominated by industrial and factor integration development and is gradually transitioning to institutional arrangement and market system integration.In the new era,BTH shoulders new missions such as ensuring the security and stability of regional industrial and supply chains,and narrowing the development gap between the northern and southern regions of China.In order to promote BTH's coordinated development in the future,we need to highlight the relocation of non-capital functions in Beijing,the continued construction of Xiong'an New Area,and a world-class advanced manufacturing cluster.
