Influence of Moderating Effect of the Cognition of Behavioral Effectiveness on Pro-Environmental Behaviors
Based on CGSS(2021)data,residents'pro-environmental behaviors were studied using the OLS and PROBIT regression models, this paper finds that citizens'cognition of the effective-ness of their pro-environmental behaviors can regulate the degree to which the perception of envi-ronmental problems is transformed into their action intention, and positive evaluation of their pro-environmental behaviors is an important factor in realizing the"integration of knowledge and action"in the field of citizens'pro-environmental behaviors in this study. It is found that the nega-tive cognition of the effectiveness of pro-environmental behaviors will subjectively exclude the main responsibility of citizens'ecological environmental protection, thus reducing the intention of pro-environmental behaviors, through further analysis of the mechanism. This study suggests that decision makers should prevent citizens from falling into the"cognitive trap"of believing indivi-dual pro-environmental behaviors to be useless through intervention means such as education,publi-city and institutional constraints,so as to guide them to practice pro-environmental behaviors more actively in this study.
