Investigating Teaching Reform in the Course of Environmental Engineering Principles Based on the Theory of Life Education
To fully leverage the educational power of excellent traditional culture and achieve the teaching objective of enhancing students'humanities and knowledge abilities simultaneously,this paper embarked on an exploration into teaching reform through the conduit of the Environmental Engineering Principles course that integrated science and liberal arts.Based on the life education theory,this paper informed by the unique characteristics of the course and student understanding,analyzed the educational value of integrating science and liberal arts and constructed a teaching sys-tem which incorporated Chinese traditional cultural classics and supplemented by pre-lecture apho-risms,instructional scenarios,and real-life examples.Through thoughtful course design that weaves in rich humanistic elements,this paper guided students to comprehend the significance of life within the knowledge delivery process,ignited their desire to elevate life values and the pursuit of knowledge,and contributed positively to the exploration of a composite education in science and engineering.
