Correlation Between Campus Habitat Type and Bird Diversity:A Case of Huazhong Agricultural University
The campus can provide rich habitats for birds and is a hot spot of urban biodiversity conservation research.In order to explore the differences in bird diversity among different habitat types,this study took Huazhong Agricultural Uni-versity as an example to build a campus habitat classification system,and conducted a campus bird survey by using line transect method from December 2022 to June 2023.Sixty-six species of birds belonging to 15 orders and 35 families have been recorded.The abundance,richness and diversity index of birds in near-natural agroforestry and water habitats were higher than those in other types of habitats.From the perspective of evenness and dominance index,the bird community structure of semi-artificial recreational habitat and artificial hard interface habitat was relatively simple and stable,but there was obvious differentiation among most habitats.The complex and diverse plant community structure in the habitat is an important factor in determining the diversity of birds.Based on this,several suggestions on the construction of campus space are put forward,in order to provide some reference for campus ecological construction.
