Habitat Suitability Assessment of Syrmaticus ellioti in Lushan Nature Reserve
In order to understand the distribution patterns and habitat status of Syrmaticus ellioti in Lushan Nature Re-serve,MaxEnt model was used to evaluate its habitat suitability based on the data of infrared camera monitoring and envi-ronmental variables from 2017 to 2023.The results showed that the sub-suitable and suitable habitat areas of S.ellioti in Lushan Nature Reserve were 794 hm2 and 3 356 hm2,respectively,constituting 3.95%and 16.68%of the total reserve ar-ea.The primary environmental factors influencing habitat suitability are altitude and vegetation type.S.ellioti tends to fa-vor high-altitude coniferous and mixed broad-leaved forests, situated on gentle, shady slopes near water sources and located away from residential areas and roads. This study proposes management strategies to enhance the control of human dis-turbances,establish ecological corridors and implement specialized monitoring.
