Effect of Modified Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction on the Tumor Microenvironment of Colorectal Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy
Objective To explore the effect of modified Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction on the tumor microenvironment of colorectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.Methods 87 colorectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in Suzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2021 to May 2023 were selected,and randomly assigned into control group(n=43)and study group(n=44)using the random number table method.All patients received FOLFOX4 chemotherapy regimen,and based on this,study group added modified Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction.Then the outcome criteria including clinical efficacy,tumor markers[carci-noembryonic antigen(CEA),cancer antigen 199(CA199),cancer antigen724(CA724)],T lym-phocyte subsets(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+),European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer(EORTC)Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30(QLQ-C30)score and adverse reactions were compared between two groups.Results The overall response rate and disease control rate were both higher in study group than those in control group(P<0.05).Lev-els of CEA,CA199,and CA724 were lower in study group than those in control group after treat-ment(P<0.05).Study group had larger CD4+and CD4+/CD8+,and smaller CD8+values than those of control group after treatment(P<0.05).Study group scored higher on QLQ-C30 than control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions such as thrombocytopenia,liver and kidney abnormality,nausea and vomiting,and leukopenia in study group was lower than that in control group(χ2=6.323,5.362,6.071,6.216,P<0.05).Conclusion Application of modified Huan-gqi Jianzhong Decoction for colorectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy can effectively improve clinical efficacy,reduce tumor marker levels,improve immune function and quality of life,and reduce adverse reactions,so it can be one of the preferred clinical treatment options.
