With the forging of a strong sense of community among the Chinese people becoming the main line of the Party's ethnic work and work in ethnic areas in the new era,the construction of a community for the Chinese nation has gradually risen to become the overarching strategy for the governance of ethnic affairs and an important task of national governance.As an important grass-roots governance practice,forging a strong sense of community among the Chinese people in ethnic areas requires the modernization of the governance system and governance capacity,thus promoting the innovation and reform of local government governance modernization.Diqing Prefecture in Yunnan Province has taken"the benchmark of a model area for the national unity and progress"as the core goal of forging a strong sense of community among the Chinese people and has set its sights on the"five major tasks"of forging a strong sense of community among the Chinese people.Diqing Prefecture gives full play to the governance system of Party-government unit,continuously improves and optimizes the five basic governance capacities,and builds a diversified mechanism for guaranteeing the output of governance effectiveness,which has provided local experience and practical solutions for ethnic areas to forge a strong sense of community among the Chinese people.
