The Development Model and Pathway of Meal Services for the Elderly:A Case Study of Kunming City
With the intensification of population aging in China,the community-based and home-based eld-erly care system has become the main mode of elderly care services in our country,among which meal services for the elderly have been an important support for this system.Its improvement is a comprehensive issue invol-ving the government,enterprises,social organizations,and communities.By reviewing its development models in China,the paper finds that the current development models can be broadly divided into two types:communi-ty independent management model and government-entrusted enterprise operation model.It also finds that the latter model is more feasible and sustainable,but it also faces problems such as imperfect policy formulation,insufficient social participation,and constraints on innovative development.Based on case analysis of Kunming City,the paper suggests that communities should strengthen publicity to attract more social resources,and the government should establish a more flexible and detailed policy formulation mechanism,strengthen financial support,and establish a cooperative mechanism involving the participation of the government,enterprises,and social organizations.
