The digital economy,as a new economic form,is continuously penetrating various fields to em-power the emergence of new productive forces.Characteristic agriculture serves as a vital industry for rural prosperity and has become an essential component in achieving rural revitalization across different provin-cial regions.It plays a significant role in the agricultural supply-side reform.By establishing compre-hensive big data platforms for characteristic agriculture and integrating digital technologies,the digital e-conomy transforms production methods within this sector,promotes the transformation and upgrading of characteristic agricultural industries,and further relies on financial and intellectual resources as support to drive high-quality development.Research indicates that there exists a regionally uneven state between the levels of digital economy development and high-quality development of characteristic agriculture across provinces.Three dimensions-digital infrastructure,industrial digitization,and digital environ-ment-significantly contribute to driving high-quality development in characteristic agriculture.Further-more,there is regional heterogeneity in how the digital economy drives high-quality development within this sector;specifically,eastern regions exhibit more pronounced effects compared to other three areas.Therefore,it is imperative to promote the application of the digital economy in characteristic agriculture according to local conditions while scientifically planning pathways for driving high-quality development through the digital economy tailored to different regional contexts.
