In order to clarify the morphological characteristics of the Paeonia suffruticosa Andr. cv. Yingluobaozhu and enrich its cultivation and development biology theory, the leaf dissention characteristics was observed by segregation process and paraffin-embedded technology. The results showed that the leaf structure was consisted of epidermis, mesophyll and vein from the outer to inner. the epidermis was a layer of a square or rectangular cells covered by cuticle. There were many stomata apparatus distributing in the adaxial epidermis; there was one layer of palisade tissue with undeveloped midrib. The collenchyma and mechanical tissue around the midrib was thin; moreover. the fundamental tissue contained ergastic substance.The structural characteristics of the leaves showed that the Yingluobaozhu was not a drought-tolerant variety.
