Optimization of Extraction Conditions for Pigments in the Pulp of Red Pitaya(Hylocereus polyrhizus) Peel by Response Surface Methodology
Response surface methodology was applied to optimize the conditions for extracting pigment from red pitaya(Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel.Based on single factor experiments,a mathematical model describing the effects of extraction time, ethanol concentration, material to liquid ratio and pH on pigment extraction yield was created using Box-Behnken experimental design and analyzed by response surface methodology. The optimal extraction conditions were found to be extraction time of 51 min, ethanol concentration of 32%,the ratio of material to solvent of 1:45(m/V,g:mL) and pH 5.3.
