Physiological Effects of Jasmonate (JA) on Rice Seedlings under Low Temperature
Jasmonic acid (JA) is one the important growth regulators widespread in higher plants, and involved in stresses such as low temperature, salt, water, pests and diseases, and mechanical injury, erc as endogenous signaling molecules. Two rice(Oryza sativa L.) varieties Nipponbare (resistant to low temperature) and IR50(sensitive to low temperature) were treated with the control (before treatment),low-temperature,low temperature plus jasmonic acid(JA),to study the effects of jasmonic acid on low temperature resistance of rice seedlings. The results showed that jasmonic acid solution can slow down the damage of rice seedling under on low temperature stress to some extent and effectively improve the cold resistance. The effect differred in different rice varieties.
