The chemical components of Fargesia edulis were investigated.The results showed that the content in bamboo culms were as follows:the ash for 1.82％,the SiO2 for 0.33％,the hot-water extractive contents for 8.69％,the toluence-alcohol extractive for 3.54％,the holocellulose for 70.38％,and the ligin for 21.51％.According to the standards of pulping raw material,F.edulis is suitable for using as pulping raw material,because of superior holocellulose,and medium or low ligin and extractives,what's more,fewer ash and SiO2.
