Enhancing the Professional Characteristics and Reform Strategies of Professional Master's Entrance Examination and Enrollment:A Qualitative Analysis from Students'Perspectives
The professional master's entrance examination plays a pivotal role in graduate education, significantly influencing student enrollment quality and talent development.Strengthening the professional characteristics of this examination and developing a tailored system for professional master's admissions is crucial for advancing graduate education and cultivating high-level,application-oriented talents. From the students'perspective, the professional characteristics of the entrance examination are reflected in four key dimensions:exam composition, question design, examination organization, and scoring/enrollment processes. However, challenges persist, including high repetition rates in self-prepared subject tests,an emphasis on rote memorization over practical application, limited practical content, inconsistent scoring standards, and insufficient scientific rigor in re-examination and interview procedures. To address these issues, this paper proposes strategies to enhance the professional characteristics of the system, including:shifting the focus of unified examination questions to better evaluate professional skills, improving the relevance, precision, transparency, and practicality of self-prepared questions for re-examination and interviews, clarifying scoring criteria to elevate assessment standards, and strengthening the scientific design and standardized management of interviews to better reflect the professional nature of the programs.
