River water surface profile calculation based on Mike 21 and HEC-RAS
The calculation of the river channel water surface profile is an important part in the design of river channel regulastion projects, which directly affects the scale and investment of river management.Mike 21 and HEC-RAS calculation models are used to calculate the water surface profile, analysis and comparison are carried out to provide reference for the selection of calculation methods. The results indicate that there is a difference in the calculation between the two methods, and the larger difference is mainly concentrated in areas with higher flow velocity. The reason for the large difference is that the flow state in the middle zone of the bend is relatively unstable, with high flow velocity, causing water level fluctuations.Based on the differences in topography data extraction and import between two software,it is analyzed that Mike21 is suitable for rivers with complex and fluctuating topography, while HEC-RAS is suitable for rivers with smooth topography and little variation in cross-sectional shape and width.
