Monitoring analysis of deformation during the early stage of Baihetan high arch dam
The article focuses on Baihetan particular high arch dam in southwest China.Through the analysis of monitoring data, the initial reservoir filling process of the high arch dam is analyzed from two perspectives:temporal sequence changes and spatial distribution. The results indicate that the deformation of the dam is well synchronized and correlated with the water level. As the water level rises, the overall deformation of the dam shifts downstream and towards both banks, while the settlement decreases. In terms of spatial distribution, the deformations in all directions are roughly symmetric about the centerline of the dam.Radial and vertical deformations are larger in the middle and smaller towards the sides, while tangential deformations are smaller in the middle and larger towards the sides.
