Exploring the law of deformation of soil and rock dams and analyzing the stability is a major issue of concern for a large number of water conservancy projects worldwide, which is of great significance to ensure the safety of people's lives and the healthy economic development.Using 55 Sentinel-1A satellite SAR images of Xiaolangdi soil and rock dam from March 2017 to September 2021,and PS-InSAR technology,it was detected that Xiaolangdi soil and rock dam showed a″stepped″ deformation trend from the top of the dam to the bottom of the dam in the past 5 years, and the maximum deforma-tion amounted to-86.09 mm.Combined with the reservoir water level, rainfall and other factors,it is found that the dam body as a whole shows a seasonal deformation trend of ″rapid in summer and slow in winter″.The simulation model of Xia-olangdi soil and rock dam was further analyzed for seepage and stress using two-dimensional finite element method. In the case of high reservoir water level, the seepage flow and deformation rate of the dam body are larger than that of low reservoir water level. In the stress analysis part,it is found that the vertical deformation trend of the dam body is consistent with the InSAR monitoring results, and the deformation also presents a ″stepped″ shape. The research results provide theoretical ba-sis and decision-making basis for the operation stability analysis and deformation history tracing of Xiaolangdi soil and rock dam.It shows that PS-InSAR technology combined with 2D finite element model simulation has great potential for applica-tion in water conservancy project monitoring.
