Studies on the Chemical Weathering and CO2 Consumption in the Upper Reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo River in Recent 50 Years
Based on the continuous monitoring data of the upper reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo River Basin in 2013,2015 and 2019-2021,and combined with the existing research results, the evolution of hydrochemical spatial and temporal char-acteristics and the change process of weathering rate and CO2 consumption in the Yarlung Tsangpo River Basin in recent 50 years were explored. The results show that in recent 50 years, the river water in the Yarlung Tsangpo River Basin has been weakly alkaline, the pH value is between 7.59 and 8.54,and the content change of TDS shows an increasing trend;from the 1970s to the beginning of the 21st century, the weathering rate of silicate rocks showed a gradually increasing trend, and the weathering rate of carbonate rocks showed a changing trend of first increasing and then decreasing;the CO2 flux consumed by silicate rock weathering and carbonate rock weathering is 16.90×1010 mol per year in wet years,is 10.53×1010 mol per year in normal water years,is 5.74×1010 mol per year in dry years, and accounting for 0.80%,0.50%and 0.27%of CO2 flux consumed by global continental silicate rock weathering and carbonate rock weathering respectively.
