Spatial Variability Analysis of the Permeability Coefficient of Lake Sediments
The vertical permeability coefficient of lake bottom sediment plays an important role in the study of the relation-ship between groundwater and lake water transformation. The vertical permeability coefficient(Kv)of 24 experimental sites in Qingshui Lake in Yinchuan was measured using the vertical pipe method. The distribution and spatial variability of its permeability coefficient were analyzed by particle analysis and statistical method. In order to more accurately describe and analyze the spatial variability of Kv in the study area, the study was divided into two zones A and B according to the results. The results are as follows. The Kv value is mainly distributed in the range of 0.107~5.004 m/d.The overall distribution is normal, with a mean of 1.995 m/d and a coefficient of variation of 0.730.There is moderate spatial variability in permea-bility.The average Kv of the test site in zone A was 0.926 m/d,which was significantly lower than the average Kv of the test site in zone B was 3.063 m/d,and the variation degree gradually decreased from zone A to zone B.With the exception of a few test sites, the Kv values of the larger test points with effective particle size d10 and boundary particle size d50 are rel-atively large. This indicates that the size and distribution of sediment particles are one of the key factors contributing to the difference in Kv values. The hydrological interaction between lake water and groundwater affects the magnitude of Kv value. The research provides a scientific theoretical basis for the study of the conversion of lake water and groundwater in Qing-shuihu wetland.
