Research progress on the etiology,diagnosis and treatment of anterior pituitary hypofunction
Anterior pituitary hypofunction(APH)is an endocrine dysfunction syndrome caused by deficiency of one or more anterior pituitary hormones.The clinical manifestation of APH depends on the type and degree of hormone deficiency.Hormone level determination and pituitary functional provocation test are helpful to the accurate diagnosis of APH.Most APH patients need lifetime hormone replacement therapy,and an insufficient or excessive hormone replacement therapy affects the quality of life.With the increased morbidity and mortality of APH,it is of great clinical significance to understand the etiology,early diagnosis and standard treatment of APH.This article reviews the etiology,clinical manifestation,diagnosis and treatment of APH.
