Effects of an individualized intervention mode on respiratory function, blood gas indexes and complications in COPD patients with respiratory failure
Objective To explore the effects of an individualized intervention mode on respiratory function, blood gas indexes and complications in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)combined with respiratory failure. Methods A total of 60 COPD patients combined with respiratory failure admitted to Nanjing Central Hospital from August 2020 to August 2022 were randomly divided into the control group and observation group, with 30 cases per group.Routine nursing and individualized nursing intervention were performed in the control group and observation group, respectively.Blood gas indexes, quality of life and psychological status were compared between groups. Results After nursing, the time of symptom remission in observation group was significantly shorter than that of control group, including the symptoms of shortness of breath(0.91±0.24)d,cyanosis(1.20±0.13)d,and pulmonary rale(4.31±1.02)d,(P<0.05).The time of chest X-ray returning to normal(5.37±2.44)d was also significantly shorter in the observation group than that of control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2,[93.56±4.32]mmHg)and oxygen saturation(SaO2,[94.12±3.32]mmHg)in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1)and forced vital capacity(FVC)in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the peak expiratory flow(PEF)after intervention between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(6.67%vs 20.00%,P<0.05).Conclusion An individualized nursing can effectively improve the respiratory function and blood gas indexes of COPD patients combined with respiratory failure, reduce complications and promote the rehabilitation, which is worth clinical reference.
