Strategies for spinal cord injury repair based on microenvironmental regulation and relevant research progress
After spinal cord injury(SCI),bleeding, inflammation and scar formation occur at the injured site. The balance of spinal cord microenvironment is broken up,including the downregulated beneficial factors and upregulated harmful factors. The imbalanced spinal cord microenvironment not only seriously impairs nerve regeneration, but also poses adverse effects on the recovery of spinal cord function. To promote the regeneration, researchers have recently concerned the regulatory strategies of the complex microenvironment generated by SCI.Therefore, reconstructing an appropriate microenvironment may be a potential therapeutic option for SCI repair. This article reviews the recent studies on the use of different strategies to regulate the different microenvironment generated by SCI to promote SCI repair, thus providing the corresponding help for the research.
