Research on the comorbidities of psoriasis in Hebei Province based on a Chinese database analysis
Objective To estimate the prevalence of the comorbidities of psoriasis and risk factors in Hebei Province,thus providing a theoretical basis for the individualized treatment of psoriasis.Methods Data about general condition,disease severity and psoriasis comorbidities were extracted from the database and processed by a series of statistical analyses like the t-test.Results A total of 1487 psoriasis patients in Hebei Province were included in our study,involving 65.8%male patients.Their mean age was(37.62±14.73)years old.Most classification of patients was psoriasis vulgaris.The proportion of moderate-to-severe psoriasis was 65.57%.There were 11.8%of psoriasis patients suffering from comorbidities,mainly including cardiovascular system diseases and endocrine system diseases.Patients who had advanced age and abnormal weight with out hyperlipidemia were more prone to hypertension.Patients with advanced age,early onset,and moderate-to-severe psoriasis with classification of erythroderma or pustules were more likely to suffer from type 2 diabetes mellitus.Conclusion The prevalence of hypertension,type 2 diabetes and overweight is high in psoriasis patients in Hebei Province.
