Application of cognitive intervention guided by the theory of planned behavior in patients with grade 3 hypertension
Objective To explore the effect of cognitive intervention guided by the theory of planned behavior in patients with grade 3 hypertension. Methods A total of 116 patients with grade 3 hypertension diagnosed and treated from September 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the research subjects using the convenience sampling method. They were randomly divided into the control group(routine cognitive intervention)and observation group(cognitive intervention guided by the theory of planned behavior),with 58 patients in each group. The blood pressure control compliance, hypertension treatment attitude and belief, and self-management ability were compared between the two groups. Results After 3 months of intervention, patients in the observation group had significantly larger decreases in the systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and higher compliance rate of blood pressure control(P<0.05).After the intervention, the scores of each dimension and the total score of the attitude and belief towards hypertension treatment in both groups were significantly higher than those before intervention, which were significantly higher in the observation group than those of the control group(P<0.05).The score of each dimension and total scores of the self-management ability in both groups were significantly higher than those before intervention, which were significantly higher in the observation group than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Cognitive intervention guided by the theory of planned behavior can effectively strengthen the treatment attitude, belief and self-management ability of patients with grade 3 hypertension, thus effectively controlling the blood pressure, and achieving a higher compliance rate.
