Application of the Satir communication model in perinatal nursing of parturient women at an advanced maternal age
Objective To observe the application effect of the Satir communication model in the perinatal nursing of parturient women at an advanced maternal age. Methods A total of 62 parturient women at an advanced maternal age admitted from July 2022 to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into control group and observation group according to the block randomization method, with 31 cases per group.Conventional nursing model was applied to both groups, and the Satir communication model was additionally applied to observation group. The self-efficacy assessed by the General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES)and the quality of life assessed by the 36-Item Short Form Survey(SF-36)before and after interventions were compared. The maternal role transformation assessed by the Maternal Role Adaptation Scale(MRAS)after interventions were compared between groups. The success rates of breastfeeding and incidence of adverse pregnancy events after interventions were recorded. Results After interventions, the scores of GSES and SF-36 in both groups significantly increased compared with those before interventions(P<0.05),which were significantly higher in the observation group than those of control group(P<0.05).The scores of MRAS were significantly higher in the observation group than those of control group(P<0.05).The success rate of breastfeeding in the observation group was significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05),and the incidence rate of adverse pregnancy events was significantly lower(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of the Satir communication model intervention in the perinatal nursing of parturient women at an advanced maternal age can improve the maternal self-efficacy,maternal quality of life and maternal role transformation, enhance the success rate of breastfeeding and reduce the incidence of adverse pregnancy events. It deserves the clinical promotion.
