Analysis and evaluation of the influence of rapid orthopaedic rehabilitation intervention on patients with upper limb fractures
Objective To investigate the effect of rapid orthopedic rehabilitation intervention on patients with upper limb fractures. Methods A total of 84 patients with upper limb fractures from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected. They were randomly divided into the control group and observation group according to the numerical random table method, with 42 cases per group.Routine nursing was applied to all patients, and those in the observation group were additionally managed by the rapid orthopedic rehabilitation intervention. The postoperative pain and swelling, incidence of complications, range of motion and recovery of upper limb functions were compared between the two groups. Results In the observation group, the visual analog scale(VAS)score and swelling degree of the affected limb at 3 and 7 days after surgery were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The complication rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(4.76%vs 21.43%,P<0.05).In the observation group, the range of motions of forearm pronation, supination, elbow flexion and elbow extension of the affected limb at 4 weeks after surgery were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The scores of the Mayo Elbow Performance Score(MEPS)and the Fugel-Meyer Assessment(FMA)for the upper limbs at 4 weeks after surgery were significantly higher in the observation group than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Rapid orthopaedic rehabilitation intervention applied in patients with upper limb fractures can effectively reduce postoperative pain and edema, reduce the incidence of complications, and further improve the range of motion and effective recovery of the upper limbs.
