Influence of self-determination theory-based multimodal exercise training on limb function recovery in patients with hemiplegia of cerebral infarction
Objective To explore the influence of self-determination theory-based multimodal exercise training on limb function recovery in patients with hemiplegia of cerebral infarction. Methods From January 2020 to November,2021 Totally 108 patients with hemiplegia of cerebral infarction admitted to the hospital were recruited. They were randomly assigned to receive either routine nursing(the control group,n=54)or self-determination theory-based multimodal exercise training(the observation group,n=54).The psychological status(State-Trait Anxiety Inventory[STAI-Y]),limb function(Limb Motor Function Rating Scale),self-efficacy(Self-Efficacy to Manage Chronic Disease Scale[SEMCD]),self-care ability(modified Barthel Index[MBI])were compared between groups. Results After intervention, patients in both groups showed significantly lower the scores of psychological status, significantly higher the scores of limb function,self-efficacy and self-care ability than those before intervention(all P<0.05),and there were significant differences in the above scores between observation group and control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with hemiplegia of cerebral infarction,self-determination theory-based multimodal exercise training can effectively improve their psychological status, strengthen limb function, and enhance self-efficacy and self-care ability.
