Effect of laparoscopic natural orifice specimen extraction on postoperative voiding function and rehabilitation quality in male patients with low-lying rectal cancer
Objective To investigate the effect of laparoscopic natural orifice specimen extraction(NOSE)in male patients with low-lying rectal cancer. Methods A total of 94 male patients with low-lying rectal cancer in our hospital from October 2019 to November 2021 were enrolled.Patients(admitted from October 2019 to October 2020,n=47)were included in the observation group and were treated with laparoscopic NOSE.Patients(admitted from November 2020 to November 2021,n=47)were included in the control group and were treated with conventional laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer. The total incidence of adverse reactions, body temperature changes and postoperative recovery of the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results The amount of intraoperative bleeding, and the number of positive lymph nodes in the observation group were similar to those of the control group(P>0.05),but distal resection margin distance in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of preventive stoma in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative arteriovenous fistula stenosis and anastomotic leakage between the two groups(P>0.05).The four dimensions(such as social, psychological, mental and physical health)of the City of Hope-quality of life-Ostomy Questionnaire(COH-QOL-OQ)scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For male patients with low-lying rectal cancer, laparoscopic NOSE can effectively improve the stability, reduce distal resection margin distance, decrease the incidence of preventive stoma, and improve the quality of postoperative rehabilitation of patients.
