Objective To observe the effect of empathy nursing combined with Satir model on prenatal anxiety depression, parturition process and birth outcomes of elderly pregnant women in the perinatal period. Methods Totally 98 pregnant women aged≥35 years who were admitted to hospital for delivery from July 2022 to July 2023 were divided into conventional group(n = 49)and study group(n = 49)by simple randomization method. All patients were managed by perinatal conventional nursing and empathy nursing intervention, and those in the study group were given Satir model. The pre-intervention and pre-delivery Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),parturition process,pre-post intervention self-efficacy(General Self-Efficacy Scale[GSES]),birth outcomes and nursing satisfaction were compared. Results After intervention, the SAS and SDS scores in the both groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),which decreased notably in the study group compared with the conventional group(P<0.05).The first stage of labor, second stage of labor, and total labor in the study group decreased significantly than those in the conventional group(P<0.05).After intervention, the GSES scores in the both groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),the increase in the study group was more common than the conventional group(P<0.05).The difference was not statistically significant in the birth outcomes including perinatal infants situation(average weight,5-min Apgar score, neonatal asphyxia, fetal distress)and maternal situation(postpartum hemorrhage, placental abruption)between groups(P>0.05).The nursing satisfaction in the study group was significantly increased than in the conventional group(P<0.05).Conclusion Forelderlypregnantwomenin the perinatal period, the empathy nursing combined with Satir model can significantly improve maternal prenatal anxiety depression and self-efficacy,parturition process and nursing satisfaction.
