Effect of recombinant erythropoietin combined with budesonide on arterial blood gas index, inflammatory response, ventilator application and oxygen inhalation time in premature infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia
Objective To study the effect of recombinant erythropoietin combined with budesonide on arterial blood gas index, inflammatory reaction, ventilator application and oxygen inhalation time in premature infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD).Methods A total of 116 premature infants treated from November 2021 to October 2022 were enrolled. They were divided into observation group(n=59)and control group(n=57)according to the envelope method.Cases in the control group received budesonide, and those in the observation group received recombinant erythropoietin combined with budesonide.Arterial blood gas indexes,interleukin-8(IL-8),tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α),withdrawal time, invasive ventilation time, hospitalization time, and total oxygen inhalation time were compared. The incidence of complications was calculated. Results Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the levels of pretreatment oxygen partial pressure(PO2),carbon dioxide partial pressure(PCO2),and IL-8,TNF-α and IL-4,and the incidences of intracranial hemorrhage, retinopathy of premature infants, and positive rates between groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the level of PO2 was significantly elevated in both groups, which was significantly higher in the observation group than that of control group(P<0.05).The levels of TNF-α,PCO2,IL-8,IL-4 were significantly reduced in both groups, which were significantly lower in the observation group than those of control group(P<0.05).The total oxygen inhalation time, invasive ventilation time, hospitalization time, and withdrawal time in the observation group were significantly shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).The proportions of anemia and BPD were significantly lower in the observation group than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Recombinant erythropoietin combined with budesonide can significantly improve oxygenation, reduce inflammation, shorten oxygen inhalation time and ventilator use time, and reduce the incidence of BPD in premature infants.
