Effectiveness of the comprehensive early dietary education and guidance on pregnant women at an advanced maternal age with gestational diabetes mellitus and the effect on pregnancy outcome
Objective To observe the effectiveness of the comprehensive early dietary education and guidance on pregnant women at an advanced maternal age with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)and the effect on pregnancy outcome.Methods Totally 90 pregnant women at an advanced maternal age with GDM treated in Suqian First Hospital from July 2021 to June 2022 were recruited.They were randomly divided into the experimental group(n= 45)and the control group(n=45).All patients were managed by routine education of GDM,and those in the experimental group additionally received the comprehensive early dietary education.Clinical indices after the intervention were compared between groups.Results There were significant differences in the scores of the cognition and compliance of diet controlling between groups(P<0.05).Compared with those of the control group,the blood glucose index in the experimental group was significantly better,and the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes was significantly lower(P<0.05).Conclusion For pregnant women at an advanced maternal age with GDM,the comprehensive early dietary education and guidance is helpful to improve cognition and compliance of diet controlling,effectively control blood sugar,and reduce the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes.
