Objective To explore the effects of empowerment theory-based continuous nursing intervention on coping style and psychological state of patients with cerebral infarction.Methods From August 2021 to January 2022,totally 112 patients with cerebral infarction treated in the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University were randomly assigned into the control group(n=56)and the observation group(n=56).All patients were managed by routine nursing intervention,and patients in the study group additionally received empowerment theory-based continuous nursing intervention.The intervention was performed for six months,aiming to compare treatment compliance and satisfaction,the scores of medical coping modes questionnaire(MCMQ),the National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NIHSS),activities of daily living scale(ADL),stroke impairment assessment Set(SIAS),quality of life(QoL)and psychological status before and after intervention.Results After intervention,patients in the both groups presented significantly lower the scores of fear-avoidance,yield,NIHSS,Hamilton anxiety rating/Hamilton depression rating(HAMA/HAMD)scale than those before intervention,and which in the observation group were more pronounced(P<0.05).Patients in the both groups showed significantly higher scores of facing,ADL,SIAS,Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),and QoL than those before intervention,and which in the observation group were more pronounced(P<0.05).The total treatment compliance and total satisfaction in the observation group were improved than those in the control group(both P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with cerebral infarction,empowerment theory-based continuous nursing intervention can help regulate the negative emotions of the patients,improve their neurological function,promote their physical functional recovery,improve the scores of QoL and CD-RISC,increase their satisfaction.It can also improve patients'confidence in facing the disease and make them more compliant with treatment.
