Objective To explore the application effect of neuromuscular electrical stimulation(NMES)combined with proprioception training in the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis(AIS).Methods This study used a prospective randomized controlled analysis including 93 children with AIS admitted to the hospital from January 2021 to March 2023 as the study subjects. They were divided into the observation group(n=47)and the control group(n=46)based on a random number table. All children were treated with proprioception training, and those in the observation group were additionally treated with NMES.Both groups were treated continuously for 12 weeks. The clinical efficacy,Cobb angle, apical vertebral rotation and apical vertebral deviation were compared between the two groups after treatment. Results The total clinical effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(97.87%vs 82.61%,P<0.05).After 12 weeks of treatment, the significantly lower Cobb angle, apical vertebral rotation and apical vertebral deviation were detected in both groups compared with before treatment(P<0.05),and the decreased was more pronounced in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion NMES combined with proprioception training has a significant clinical effect in the treatment of AIS,which can significantly improve the Cobb angle, apical vertebral rotation and apical vertebral deviation.
